Title: Unexpected Claim
Author: Alexa Riley
Release Date: November 3, 2017
Genre: Adult Erotic Romance

Ivy is looking to break out of her innocent bubble, so she decides going to an adult club with her bestie is the way to do it. She’s nervous and excited, but nothing could compare to the reality she’s confronted with.

Shep’s been totally okay with living his quiet life alone. But his best friend thinks it’s time he changed that. Being dragged into a club wasn’t his idea of fun, but one glance at the snowy angel and he’s done for.

Warning: This book is about grownups doing grown things, so brace yourself! Two virgins walk in… Can you guess how many walk out? One-click to find out!

What we liked

♥ The Alexa Riley flare we love and never tire of

♥ It's a quickie read for when you only have time for a quickie
♥ Sex club. But a notch higher -- Orgy night at a swanky sex club
♥ Instalust. Y'all know we're a sucker for those.
♥ Both main characters lose their virginities together
♥ The H went from reluctant wallflower to an alpha dom with his girl
♥ Semi-realistic sex, as far as how quick it goes
♥ The epilogue 12 years later. Suffice to say that they still have it bad for each other.
♥ MC with a disability was handled well

What we didn't

  • It was too short for us (yes, we're greedy)
  • There wasn't enough sex. Yes, it's a short novella so there's not much room for much, but damn the sex and foreplay was hot, we wanted more!

The ladies

Ivy // The lady virgin of the evening. She goes from shy virgin to insatiable vixen when Shep claims her in the club, and we loved seeing this evolution.

Reba // Ivy's wild and vivacious friend, here to sacrifice Ivy's v-card (aw, how nice of her) like a good friend does. She deserves all the thanks for dragging Ivy to the club.

The guys

Shepard // He's got the brains and looks (in that order), who powered through school bullies while having a disability (scoliosis). He's lucky to have a friend like Marc. Did we mention that he's a...VIRGIN? Never even kissed a girl before he met Ivy. We love these unicorns.

Marc // Points for being a good friend/person in general when it came to a kid (Shep) with a disability. You don't see school kids handle peers with a disability well when it comes to fighting off bullies. Also doesn't hurt that he's funny, fun and enjoys giving Shep a hard time. It's weird I kinda wanted him and Reba to hook up.
